My father-in-law really wants me to autocross my Mustang. He does it with his Corvette, and my brother-in-law races his mom's S2000.
He claims it's alot more fun than it looks. It doesn't look like much fun. :-)
I was going to try it last month, until I saw the price of the required helmet, and decided to use that money elsewhere (exhaust, chip, or my other hobbies).
Any of you guys into that?
I autocross my 87 Vert. It is alot of run. Takes alot more thinking than it looks. Trying to map out where your going and how fast / slow to go.
Most helmets are about 100bucks check out a motorcycle shop. And most of the autocross's around here have a few for everyone to use. Thats what I do cause Im cheap and wont buy one till I need one for the 1/4mile.
AutoX is the best way of actually learning to use the full capabilities of your car without going to a race track.
