I'm chemical, no PE though.
I don't think the "PE" means as much in the other disciplines. In the civil area it is a requirement in order to own a consulting firm. It also makes it easier to become a partner in a firm or to advance to higher salary levels.
Speaking as someone who sold an '03 Cobra and bought an '05 Corvette, I can honestly tell you there's a hell of a lot more to driving than straight line acceleration.
Some people can be satisfied with the Cobra's limitations, and that's great - those people can save a ton of money. But to people like me, the C6 is worth every penny of its extra cost.
