ON-Topic > I Have A Bad Bladder

Jul 18, 2003 7 Replies

Yeah, that's right... I now have a bad bladder which means I have no longer have any lumbar support. No, I'm not talking about a medical problem; I'm talking about the bladder in my Cobra's driver's seat. I jumped in the car tonight to drive home and the bladder was completely flat. So I pumped it up, and within 10 seconds or so the bladder was flat again. I haven't had a chance to take a look yet, but does anyone one want to offer me some advice on what to do/look for to get my lumbar support back?

Thanks in advance,

Make sure it's not the tubing TO the bladder OR the bulb/valve.

Then pull the seat, detach back, roll the cover up to get at the bladder... then a tire patch (hot-patch) might work.

On the old hand pump style it was often the valve in the bulb. These can be replaced ( the whole bulb) they are the exact same bulbs on the blood pressure tester at your Doc's. I seem to recall a '93 will have the electric pump style.

As BM said it also may be the tubing that connects to it. I watched them being installed on similar seats ( Explorer's IIRC) at Lear seating when I was working in their plant. They are just pushed on like vacuum hoses. They dipped the tube in a soapy liquid to help it slide on. Now that these have dried up it may be leaking out there. StuK

You're too much of a pussy to be driving a Cobra.

"Ooooh. Where's my lumbar support?!??!"

Oooohh...big tough guy! Another usenet "I can lift weights and beat you up" post. Yeah, show me how you "work out," until your lumbar support gives out and you have to get a back rub.

What a joke. Tell us all about your weight training, and I'll tell you about how I used to beat up Bruce Lee.

Sell your Cobra and get a Volvo....I hear the lumbar support is excellent, and everyone in the Volvo groups is a pussy, too. If you cry about back pain, they all cry with you. And if you cry about the price of Catholic school tuition, they REALLY go berserk.

What did you expect? You buy a high performance car, then come crying about pussy problems to a high performance group?

By the way...5 miles every morning, including Christmas (and this is Minnesota). You would give me no problems at all, Hulk.
