OT: WOOHOOO!!!! (long)

LOL!!! You are the one who is making me wonder right now!

It is a blast when you make a few runs then compare time slips to see that they are damn near identical. AFter a few runs I had a few of my friends tell me that as long as I don't red-light I would probably win. It probably won't be a whilte til I go back, but when I do, look out! Erik D. Yeah, I wish that event would have been for money, lol! Eventually, I will probably run a few money races, but I need to make a few bucks first and get a real job. I am hoping to graduate this summer so I am hoping that will cover some of my expensive habits :) Erik D. '94 white lightning

A "package" is your combination of reaction time and how far you were off your dial. On your final, championship, run you nailed your dial to the thousandth. So your package was basically your RT - Perfect RT.

A good bracket racer will consistently have a package under .100. That means that the combination is no worse than .100 from being a "perfect run."

A really good bracket racer will consistently have a package under .050. That's pretty tough to do!

What were your "packages" for all of your runs?

The first step is a consistent car. Then you need to get rid of any variables, such as traction issues. Once the car becomes "automatic," then all you need to work on is your RT. In my 71 GS455, I always left it in drive. I always left just when the last amber started to come on. I always started by just tickling the Stage light on. If my RT was slow, I'd roll a bit deeper into the beams. The car was pretty consistent. Occasionally it would shift the 2-3 a couple hundred rpm early. That usually hurt me by about .050 slower ET, give or take. From late 2000 to the end of 2002, I accumulated 9 trophies (only one race was for $ too - $135 for runner up at BOP Bremerton 2001). Three were 1st place and the other 6 were runner-up. You just can't beat a consistent car!!! At one point, I left my 13.50 dial on it for 3 straight races, in 2001.

Why would you want to wait to go back!? Time to start winning some money.
