Basically any rear out of a mustang from 86 to 93 will be a direct swap. Brakes and all...

There are other options...for a disk brake conversion you could get one out of a thunderbird SC but it's a little wider (longer axels ) so be carefull what wheel you get with them. Other 4 lug disks option includes one from a

93 cobra although they are rare...

For 5 lug any recent (94+) rear will bolt right in but will have 5 lugs so you need to get the front spindles/caliper assemblies as well...

Hope this helps,

Serge

Diff tag codes...

In your shopping you want to make sure you get a limited slip diff...The codes are many but here are some common ones....All these codes should be traction lok. typically, these are the top number and prefixed with a S (this is the plant id)

Prefer those later diffs, they are 92/93 vintage

2.73 ratios 215A 3.08 ratios 217A 3.27 ratios 219A

Those were installed from 86 to 90

2.73 ratios 201A 3.08 ratios 203F 3.27 ratios 205F

Those are earlier diffs, in the early diffs, any no not in this list is not a traction lok

2.73 ratios 013A, 031A 3.08 ratios 015A, 015B, 015C, 034A, 034B, 423E, 445C, 423F 3.27 ratios 017A, 017B, 017C, 407E, 039A, 421E

Good shopping...

Thanks Serge!

There is a guy locally here selling a '01'GT rearend w/3.27 Locker.... So this would be a direct bolt in (giving me a 5 lug rear) ??

Yes, it will bolt right on. Remember however that it is wider than your Fox rear. 94/98 axels are about 3/4 in longer than fox to allow for disk bracketting. The 99 up rears are about 1.5 in wider than the 94/98 rears. As for bolting in no problem, just think of what wheels you will be putting on. I don't believe that cobra r's will fit without rolling the lip but I have never tried such a new rear in a Fox body...

Take a tape measure to it and do a little calculating...

Hope this helps,

Serge

No. Rangers have different mounting points.
