I have an '89 GT. I found recently that when driving in heavy rain with the wipers on the fastest speed, they cut out after 15 or 20 minutes of use at this speed. Any clue as to why?

It could be a sign that your wiper motor is dying, but I'd try lubing all the pivot points and examining the linkage carefully before you replace the motor. It could just be sticking or binding somewhere in the linkage, causing the motor to overheat. My two cents, anyway. ;)

This is a sign of your windshield wiper motor overloading.....You might want to think about finding a new replacement if your planning to keep the car for any length of time.............
