i dont see why not. lots of those speed density mustangs were pretty quick out of the box. a sub-6 0-60 is not out of the question for a low 14's car, and believe me, the 87-88 cars can do that with a bump in timing and a good driver. . tim

Most definately! My old 5-speed '87 stripper LX knocked off a 14.2 @
98 mph... and unpowershifted. That number would translate into an estimated 0-60 in 5.6 or so.My car certainly wasn't the only one. Many of the well-driven '87-'88

How far back do you want to go? My lightly-massaged (i.e.: not stock, but not radical, either) '65 coupe with a 289, 4-speed manual and 3.00:1 rear would go 0-60 in about 5.2 seconds.
Man, I miss that car! Well, except for the rust, the stress cracks, the monthly re-welding of the clutch linkage . . .
