Can't regulate window position. Either is goes all the way down and stays or if going up reaches top then reverses back. Dealer says needs whole new motor ?

First try lubing the window track with silicone lube to make sure it isn't binding in the track & making the mechanism think its pinching something.

sounds like switch problems. maybe a sticky switch inside the door. If they are integral to the window motor, then you got a problem.
If you can locate the switches, try spraying some "tuner cleaner" from Radio Shack in them.(brake cleaner spray would also work)
The 03 Murano does not have an anti pinch control, the problem is with the auto up feature of the power window system
The power window motor needs to be re-timed, if re-timing cannot be achieved the it will need a new motor.
is there a documented way to re-time the motor ?I thought all new cars needed pinch control on the Auto-Up windows ?
Perhaps this Infiniti window retiming procedure will work?

That method only works on newer Nissan and Infiniti vehicles.
I'll await your text.

I did this step. If I manually hold the front passenger (or driver side switch) swtich, the window will go up and stay up. If I operate the swtich for "One Touch Up" by pulling either driver side or the passenger side up the window raises fully then reverses down 1/4.
Here is how you do it
Remove the door panel
- Remove the motor from regulator.
- Connect the connector. Rotate the motor unit with power window switch for more than 5 sec in glass raising direction.
- Install motor to regulator.
- Raise glass to the top position.
Do not use Auto switch to raise the glass to the top position.
OK will try in the coming week
