What type of the transmission oil do I have to use for 1997 Mercury Villager? I am posting the question here since there is no Mercury Villager newsgroup...

ATF Dexron III/Mercon type automatic transmission fluid if the transmission is an automatic.
Good call on posting it here. Nissan had a hand in the design and supply of parts for the Villager. Nice van!

Mercury Villager and Nissan Quest is same van, just a few differences on the body molding, color scheme. Body by Ford with Nissan Engine/Drivetrain. Jim
