My 2001 Pathfinder is stubborn to release the key after turning the engine off. After a lot of research on google I believe it to be the sensor which tells the ignition key it is in park.
Does any one know where this sensor is? Or have any experience with this problem? The key does come out, I just have to mess with it - or wiggle it - or be patient. It seems that if I shift to park, wait with car idling about 60 seconds or so, it will come right out. But if I'm in a hurry and slam it into to park and immediately try to remove the key, it will stick. It makes a distinctive "click" when it releases the key so I just wiggle it until I hear the click and out it comes.
