The 6 pack CD Changer (dash mount) in my 2001 Pathfinder stopped working. It gives me an ERR 2 message.
I think - but am not sure - that I contaminated the lens with a CD-R that had a home printed label on it. I've read that you should not use CD-R's with printed labels on them because the ink comes off in the tight system and basically gunks up the lens.
Does anyone have experience with this?
I'm thinking about pulling the unit and tearing it apart to get at the lens and clean it manually. The CD based cleaners don't work as you have to advance them to track 2 and this is not possible with the ERR 2 on the unit. I've done this with a home DVD unit that I was about to throw away and it worked and saved the unit from the trash heap... I'm hoping I can do it on this unit as well.
