'96 Sentra Trunk leak

Oct 14, 2003 5 Replies

I have a leak in the trunk of my sentra. I can't seem to find a place where the water could come in except for the point where the rubber stripping comes together at the ends . There is a small gap there. Is there a common area that may leak in the sentra trunk or a way I can find the leak?

TIA

If you have a sunroof, look in the side panels (remove the lining to the left and right, where your tire changing tools are). There is a hose that empties the rain water from the sunroof in the area.

Nick

it is probably leaking around the tail light assemblies.

I had/have the same problem with my 97 Altima. It is like sieve. You are on the right track, check all the weather stripping around the truck again for any looseness or separation. And like Nisstech said, it will also leak around the tail light assemblies. Good luck and buy lots of silicone.

Nope, no sunroof. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the input.

OK, I'll check the tail lights. I seem to have a mystery to solve.

Thanks guys!
