Altima creak/clunk on accel/decel

Hi all,

I've been noticing a slight creak/clunking sound from the right front of my 99 Altima (106,000 km) lately. I had someone else sit in the car and rock it back and forth today, and it's definitely coming from that wheel. It happens as the clutch starts to bite, and once it's happened going forwards, it won't do it again until I rock it backwards, at which point it makes the sound again, and will continue to make the sound each time I change direction.

I'm just curious what this might be -- it almost sounds like the brake is sticking and breaking free when I roll, but it's not that. I can feel it in the wheel rim if I put my hand on it while the sound is happening, and on the axle as well, but it seems more apparent on the rim itself.

Am I likely looking at a bad CV joint, or something else? None of my boots are split or torn, and I don't get the typical crunching sound when doing tight turns.

Just to follow up, I stopped in at the dealer today, and the tech was able to identify the noise. He got about 1/4-1/2 turn on the front right wheel bearing nut and the noise is gone.
