Infiniti G35 Coupe question

This may have already been discussed somewhere in this forum but I haven't been able to track it down.

I am trying to determine if Infiniti has plans to add All Wheel Drive to its coupe. I am really interested in this car but, living in New England, RWD is no something I think I can have. I am currently thinking of picking up the G35 sedan but will hold out for the coupe if the AWD is coming.....

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The coup is a Skyline in Japan. So that is a sports car. I doubt it will come out all wheel drive.

That is like saying they will make a all wheel drive Z.

I DO NOT have proof because I don't work for them. but that is how I see it.

Independent "tuner" companies and performance-parts suppliers have been winning friends and making money with G35s. Whether Infiniti itself will offer similar options remains to be seen. Company marketers may be crunching sales numbers for an all-wheel-drive coupe and a 2+2 convertible based on parent Nissan's 2-seat ragtop 350Z. We'll keep you posted.

That car would/could be a real seller in the USA but they've never shown any inclination to bring it here.

Previous iterations of the Skyline in Japan (R32-R34) had AWD varaiations in the V-Spec. There is no reason why a sports car can not have AWD (i.e. Porsche 911 Turbo, Lamborghini VT?, Audi TT Quatro)

I wouldn't be surprised if the G35 coupe eventually did come with AWD however for the time being only the Sedan is offered as such. I would guess that an AWD Infniti FM platform coupe will happen in the near future and it would probably be based on the upcoming GT-R.
