On my '94 Micra when I switch to main headlight beams, only one comes one. Both bulbs are ok - are there separate fuses perhaps for each bulb? thanks

Probably a "bad Earth" - suggest you check where the earth lead meets the car body - sorry, cant tell you where that is (I have no knowledge of Micras) but the same thing happened to one of my cars..

Check your daytime running lights module, if you have one. I had a similar problem on my 94 Altima and it turned out to be a couple of cold solder joints inside the DRL module.
