OT - Sorry - Sat Radio

Just looking for opinions on XM and Sirius sat radio. Coverage, selection etc

Thanks

I've had Sirius for a couple years. The music channels are great, the reception is fine except for the occasional bridge or heavily tree lined road. The talk/news channels still have too many commercials though. Well worth the monthly fee overall.

About like comparing apples to oranges dood. I have XM and I am happy with the coverage and lineup. BUT,, anywhere the bird is obscured, tunnels, mountainous regions(certain), cities with buildings taller than a couple stories, heavy tree growth etc... you really need a matrix of terrestrial repeaters or you haven't squat for coverage. I know most big cities have terrestrial coverage for XM. If you live in an area where you need it, better find out which provider if any has that ability.

I have Sirius and listened to XM on the Internet for about a month. I think the two services are very similar. At the time I picked Sirius I thought the content was better. In retrospect there probably isn't that much difference. The best review I have seen to date on XM vs Sirius is from Edmunds.com. They listen to both services for 60 days and go into detail on the differences.

I haven't had any issues with the reception of Sirius. It doesn't do well under bridges or in parking garages but flawless as long as you have a clear shot of the sky.

Thanks for the URL, Bruce. Very interesting article.

According to the article, Sirius wins over XM.

This same question came up a couple of months ago and the overall consensus was that, although XM offered more stations, Sirius offered *better* stations. Of course, there were vehement fans of both.

Oh, yeah...when I factory ordered my '05 Murano SL yesterday afternoon, I chose to go with Sirius. :)

Rich,

I am glad you chose Sirius. I have been very happy with the content on Sirius and I am sure you will too.

Thanks, Bruce. The hard part is waiting for a factory ordered vehicle!
