Power and Fuel Economy

Aug 11, 2003 2 Replies

Hello all,

I have a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE. I want to increase the engine power (either horsepower or torque increase). However, I want to have good fuel economy.

Right now the car have a little over 31k miles on it. The average milage is

  1. The highest is 33 on the highway, and lowest of mix driving is 23.

I am looking into changing the air filter, header, and spark plug wires. I don't want to add the high performance chip, high flow muffler, or NOS.

I have some idea what air filter and header I would buy, but I am not sure about the spark plug wires.

My driving habit is sometime heavy foot, and other time easy cruising. I want the both power and economy.

I had checked out the

but didn't find anything.

Can't have both. Choose one and go with it.

If it's power, have thousands of dollars available, or get a new car, but this time one with the power you really should have gotten in the first place.

"Tuning" up your Sentra isn't really going to cut it.

Good luck,

John D.
