My 97 Pathfinder 'service engine' warning light is on. I had it investigated by a Nissan dealer. They told me that the 'Vent control vale and canister' is broken and need replacement, otherwise was told that it won't pass inspection. They asked for $399. I got a little suspecious because the car just pass inspection three weeks ago. Can anyone educate me what the 'vent control vale and canister' do. Should I replace them?
