87 nissan plugs. What plug is for smog? Top or bottum?

I think the intake side plugs are the "main" plugs but could be wrong, it's been a while since I've worked on those dual plug 4 cylinders (which is what we're talking about?). I do know one set isn't used for wide open throttle so you could unplug one coil at a time and see which one is the "main" set.
Well if it's like the Ford dual plug 4 banger, the intake side are the main plugs.
