'02 blown speaker - warranty covered?

Question

My '02 Max blew a speaker, Im still under 36k, will the warranty cover it? I'm the only driver, and the volume has not been pushed to excessive limits.

Anyone know about what a door speaker (non-Bose) would cost from the dealer?

Well, its probably not covered if you blew it out.  I checked the cost ofthe speakers for my 96 max at the dealer and the were $80 a pair.  Phooie onthe cheapo paper cone factory speakers.  I went out and bought InfinityReference 6002's all the way around.  Mucho better than factory.  Only $99 apair.  Scrap the factory junkers and go get some nice ones.  They are a snapto replace.

Do you have the Bose system?  I'm curious about doing something like thismyself, but am not sure if I have to do something special with the wackoBose junk.

No, I do not have the bose system.  I just had the factory junk set.  When Itook them out I literally had chunks that were blown out of the speakers.  Iguess the disinegrated or something cause they were no where to be found.:o)  From what I remember seeing is that you have to take out all thevarious amps that power the speakers.  Something like that.  I am sure therehas to be a FAQ on it some where.

should be covered by warranty.  Replacements can be had atthey are pricey, but guarantee a fit.
