My Maxima is fairly well self-maintained (automatice tx purchased in 1992 with 116k klics, only 163k klics now). Oil change interval is max 4k kilometers. The problem has only occurred in warm weather 20 C+. Cooling system is in good repair. Alternator has been rebuilt. Starts and runs fine, but once it is at operating temperature it is prone to stalling under idle conditions (warm idle is irregular varies 650 to 750 rpm). Thinking camshaft/timing chain and gears need replacement? Could a restriction in the exhaust system do the same?
thanks bob
