Hi,
I just bought a 99 Maxima GLE a couple of weeks ago, fully loaded...overall I'm very happy with it. My only complaint about it is how much outside noise I get inside when driving...it seems to me that a car of this class should be quieter on the road. There were lots of little squeaks and rattles in the dash trim, most of which I've fixed now but I still get a lot of outside noise such as the whirrr noise of the tires at speeds over 40mph, very loud clinks and clunks when stones hit the undercarrage and under the trunk, wind noise, and even just normal traffic noise. Is there anything realisticly do to soundproof it a bit better...I don't mind spending some money to do it or get it done. It's such a nice car and I find that all the noise makes it sound cheap. Note: The weather stripping around the doors and windows seems to be intact so I don't think that's the problem. I already bought new tires too, pretty good ones, and I still hear the tire noise loud and clear. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
Thanks, David
