Pre-cats are found in the downpipe ("y-pipe") and the main catalytic converter follows. You can replace a damaged cat with a universal one from carsound et al. 95-96 models have the O2 sensor located in the cat body. Either one can have a bung for it tapped in there or have one put in in the pipe following.
