Wow, and at your own store none the less! Imagine that! Director of Marketing, eh? The next time you want to pretend you've just stumbled on a buy, I suggest you remove your signature. BTW, $17.95 isn't a great price for 44K. In fact, once you tack on the automatic tax you charge (?) and shipping, it will probably cost more than what my local dealer charges.

This place is a rip off.

Retail list is $19.95. Typically found for $16 without any kind of "sale" price.

Keep looking and you will find a better deal. I get my stuff from subaruparts.com.

Ok Dan, you caught me :-). My apologies to you and the other users of the board. Also true, if you search hard enough you'll find the same 44K we sell for less, about $1 to $1.50 a can. What you don't get at those sites is about 10 yrs of trial and error on how to use the product to it's fullest benefit (pop the top and dump it in works, but the effectiveness can be increased if you follow a couple of additional steps). If you're an enthusiast, you go to the other sites and save a buck and half. If you're not an enthusiast you purchase from us and get a couple of "pro tips" on how to get more benefit from the use of 44K

CW, A rip off? That seems a bit strong.

At subaru.com 44K is $16.51 a can, so $17.95 a can is a $1.44 more. At Subaru product ships in 4 to 10 days, at our site it ships within 24 hours. At subaru you get the directions on the can for usage, from us you get a specific set of usage instructions that maximize the effectiveness of the product.

To you faster shipping and directions to use the product the way our professional techinicians use it may not be worth $1.44, and that is as always your choice to make. To others without your automotive expertise, the extra $1.44 may just be worth it.

Happy Holidays!

OK, my apologies. It is actually a fairly decent price... better than that found locally. I think shipping/handling is always the deal breaker and unless one is buying multiple quantities for a couple or more cars or have something else to purchase from you, the value is diminished. As it happens, I buy subaru supplies/accessories periodically so adding it to my order is a no-brainer.

Again, sorry for the inappropriate terms. It is very fairly priced...

and really like what you guys have done under the "Check Your Vehicle" tab. Between that and the accolades your shop has received I'd definitely consider having collision work done at your shop if I lived in the area. :-)

However still disagree the price difference is only $1 or $1.50 a can of 44K. Not only do you charge $1.07 to even out-of-state customers which I find a little odd, you also charge $8.00 shipping (at least from Kentucky to Maryland). That makes the actual price $27 if I want a single can -- for a product which lists at $25.60 according to your site and I get get for about $19 locally. Maybe your tips are worth the $8 difference. But it seems to me that unless you guys know something the chemical engineers at BG don't, if there was a unique and safe way to use their product and greatly increase the effectiveness, I'd think they'd advertise it.

Dan, Thanks for the kind words about our collision shop. We strive to provide the best services available. Our service/mechanical shop is run with the same focus on quality of repairs and emphasis on customer service. We try hard to do things right and to do the right things.

While it may sound nuts, I also appreciate your comments on our fuel, oil and cooling website. You raise good points about the sales tax, total cost of products, and getting more effectiveness from the products. It gives other board users the same opportunity we try to give our customers in our shops, the ability to make a decision with full information. A decision made with all the information is a good decision that benefits the individual customer based on their situation. Above all, I want that for every customer in our shops and at our website.

Kentucky audits business sales tax pretty routinely. I'm definately in the "better safe than sorry" school on that point. I collect the sales tax and I report and pay it to the state. I can only hope someday the state issues a definitive statement allowing me to omit sales tax on internet orders, until then I'll continue to collect it for the state.

You're correct, in those areas where BG products are available and competition forces down prices. You can buy a can at a shop or dealer for less than the combined product cost plus shipping from our site. Other areas aren't as fortunate, and those are the areas I hope to serve with our website. (My shipping cost will change in the very near future, thanks to a new arrangement)

Our driving routine after adding 44K according to BG's directions consistently delivers better injector flow rates, increased fuel volume delivery, and better quality of spray pattern from the injectors. We think the increase is worth the extra effort to use the routine for our customers, but to some the addtional cost of ordering from us may not be worth it.

Dan, Thanks again for the good discussion, Happy Holidays to you and your family :-)

Carleton, No offense taken. And you're absolutely correct shipping is a killer. I will have a better shipping solution in the near future.

Happy Holidays, Paul
