Replacing the Antenna Mast

I will be replacing the antenna mast on the max. I read some of the threads and concluded that there is a trick in re-installing the antenna.

I seached the newsgroup for additional information on replacing the antenna mast without any results.

If there is a trick, I would appreciate if someone could share,

Thanks

Here's the link to the 3rd Generation antenna mast replacement. It should work for your 4th Gen. Most importantly, when you remove the exterior chrome ring that holds the mast in, put a rag around it to cover your paint. It is very easy for your needle nose pliers to jump out of the ring when you are trying to twist it.

Also, it may look like removing the seat belt mount will make it easier to get the power antenna out. Don't touch it as it is extremely difficult to get the bolt back into the frame without stripping it.
