406 radio power button

Hi,

I have a 406 sv Turbo (98) with the original radio (Philips), and the power button is broken. In Peugeot service says me that they don´t have radio parts.

Someone know how remove the radio to change the buttons? Is needed special tools? I'm going to find the button in a crashed 406.

thanks, NcK

I'm no expert, but if I were you, if you find one in the scrapyard, I'd buy the whole radio. I'd be surprised if the scrappy will seperate bits of the radio anyway. Be much easier for you and will take about 10mins.

Hi Nck,

Thay are not special tools at all. they are a set of phillips keys and you can make your own with a wire coat hanger, just cut the bottom part of the coathanger and then cut it in half.

Now bend the two halfs into U's and then insert either side of the radio, there should be two holes either side, once inserted just pull both keys outwards and thern towards you, this will unlock the cage and then slide the until out.
