Just had to repalce the auxiliary belt for the second time on my 406 diesel. Started it up in work again the other day and it started making some noises and on looking I noticed that the belt had moved over towards the engine again and was rubbing against the engine.

The Haynes manual mentions something about a bolt in the middle of the tensioner that you have to slacken to replace the belt but I can't see any bolt there. It is possible that the Haynes manual has made an error I suppose. Has anybody else had this problem and do you have any pictures of the tensioner that I could look at to see if something is missing.

Ta,

Is it just me or have the French made it deliberately awkward to work on
