The water pump is on the passenger side (front) of the engine. As you are facing the engine from the front of the vehicle the thermostat should be mounted in the water inlet elbow on the right side of the protrusion on the block where the water pump bolts on. Probably difficult to see or access because of the exhaust manifold.
