Does the GT and GXP run on 87 octane? Any one know what the owners manual says?

GXP manual recommends Premium fuel but it can run on lower octane. This will, however, result in the car making less power as the knock sensors will command less timing to cope with the lower octane fuel.
Not too sure about the current GT (supercharged 3800) but my previous 2000 GTP (supercharged 3800) also recommended Premium but could also run on lower octane (again with less power due to less timing).
An old trick. Run one tank Premium, at the 1/2 tank, fill with 89 or
- With 89, the mix comes out higher by 1 octane rating then premium. Not lowest cost, but lower and still have some get-up and go. Just FYI. Central Pa, Sunco 91 is $ 3.19 as of 05/09/
I don't think it can get higher than premium by mixing with lower octanes. I think he meant 1 lower than premium, or one higher than
89...
