I've got an 350 engine from an '85 Chevy Custom Deluxe 20 that I want to put in a 63 Pontiac Tempest. Will this work?

Sure. I once knew a guy that put a Ford 390 in a 63 Tempest.
HeHe, I once put a 350 Chev in a 1960 F150.

You shouldn't bastardize a Pontiac like that.

If you replace the trans, it will fit. IIRC The tempest Poncho uses the Pontiac/Buick bolt pattern, not the Chevy/Olds pattern on the bell housing.
