Hi All, I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire and would like to learn to work on it. Anyone have any constructive suggestions on where to start? I want to replace the plugs and plug wires. Keep in mind I know NOTHING about cars.
Thanks, Bill

buy a Chilton's manual for your car. it is not the best auto repair manual, but a good place to start with routing maintenance stuff. You can find them at any auto parts store for just a few bucks.
Next find a friend whom has done some car repair work to watch over your shoulder and offer tips.
Get a decent set of tools from Snap on or Sears or something. Deep well sockets are a must along with extensions for ratchets, also get some good wrenches, screw drivers, and torx bits. Don't go cheap on tools they just break and strip bolts and nuts.
Some of my tools are 40 years old and still work great.
Thanks for the tips!!!
Personally, I think the Chilton manuals are the pits. I believe Haynes has one for the 96-01 Cavalier/Sunfire models.
Thanks!!
