change oil light 99 grand prix

i tried the way the book says ,dosent shut light off. i change oil every



2,500 miles , ive tried disconnecting battery , yet the light stays on.i have owned this car for two years . never had this problem can anyone help?

it should be ignition on, press gas pedal 3 times, ignition off, then start car and light is out
