Driver side turn signal, headlight and fog light issue

Ok, lets see how well I can explain this:

Car 1993 Pontiac Grand AM SE 4Dr 2.3L

Turn signals work fine when:

Running with lights off Running with parking lights on Running with parking and fog lights on*

With the head lights turned on the left turn signal indicator in the dash stays on. It will blink (inside and out) when engaged but very slow. I've also noticed that the driver side headlight is on but very very dim when the left turn signal is engaged. Passenger side lights and turn signal work just fine.

I had a new ignition switch installed 2 weeks ago and this problem started this week. Could they have pinched a wire in the steering column perhaps? I'd liek to be armed with some knowledge if I bring it back to them :-)

*driver side fog light is off when switch is on and on when switch is off

Thanks!

I did a walk around last night and verified the 2 rear in the tail lights and 2 in the lower portion of the front bumber were both blinking. Are there 2 others that I'm missing?

Thanks

Bad ground to one or more bulbs. Ground is feeding back through the turn signals. Remove all exterior bulbs and use your ohmmeter on the sockets to ground, one at a time. Either that or look for the rust and corrosion and clean it.

I agree. Your headlights use a lot of juice, and that is where the weak ground starts to show up. Since it's getting clogged up on the left side, you should initally presume that your ground path for the left headlamp is the problem. That's as specific an electrical diagnosis as you'll ever get.

Yes. I was thinking the same thing - start with left headlamp.

Thanks for all of your advice! Sure enough I found that the ground cable near the battery was loose. Thightened it up and and all was well. Thanks everyone.
