Grand Prix (99) and hitches and bike racks.. any advice out there?

Just wondering who all has a Grand Prix with a bike rack in tow.. mine is a 99 grand prix, 2 door gt..

According to Uhaul.. i can take at best a class 2 hitch (3500 lbs)..

These were the two they list:

37103 Stealth Receiver 2 3500 N/A Black $119.95 Buy now

36241 Heavy Duty 1 1/4 inch Rec 2 3500 N/A Black $149.95 Buy now

I'm really not sure what the difference is, as they both list at 3500 lbs and class 2.

What I'm wondering is.. has anyone put a 4 bike rear mounted rack system on their car. Does it cause gas mileage to drop by half and require extra transmission fluid due to strain (someone told me it may, but i kinda doubt it).

I will be hauling, for now, 2 steel bikes (adult) and 2 kid size bikes, eventually, they will be say 2 steel and 2 aluminum weight ones.. either way i dont think the total weight will exceed say 150lbs back there.

Also.. I want to get the right hitch, so that I may be able to tow say a waverunner on a trailer or an atv on a trailer (i'm guessing this may definitely induce drag etc?).. not sure what those combos weigh though, or if I'll end up just putting them on my next vehicle, an SUV).

So again, I'm not sure what the difference is between the stealth hitch and the heavy duty 1.25" or what typical 4 bike racks cost.

I thought about getting a 4 bike rack for the roof, but those appear to be about $500 vs about say $160 for the rear one, plus I figure I will use the hitch for other purposes, if feasible.

Thanks for any advice.

$149.95 Buy now

I should add that the folks at Uhaul say the stealth one comes down at an angle and isnt really good for bike racks.. they recommended the heavy duty version at $149.. cant seem to find it cheaper anywhere.

Are these hard to install? I'm hoping it doesnt require bumper modification either.

Cheers
