Of GP's and Lemans's

I have a '72 Lemans, with limited rear, and am buying an '73 GP SJ w/

455 and posi (parts only, car too too far gone)

I was wondering if the rear would fit without mods? I live in a suburban area and cannot work on my car in the driveway (freakin' HomeOwners Assc) so it would have to be a one day swap type of deal, as that is as far as I can push the HOA time wise.

What about the 455, will I need to fab anything? Its been forever since I pulled and dropped engines, but the GP runs like a dream and the 350 in my Lemans is the original, so I am wanting to keep it put away, for safety/originality sake.

Thanks!

I think an RV gate to the backyard is crucial if you live in a home with an HOA...

I'm beginning to think that is the only way to live, w/ an HOA that is. My only problem now is that there is only 8' of fence on the side of my house, and I dont think the neighbor wants me driving through her back yard :/

the rear is wider and the spring and shock location is wrong.

the 455 will work IF it happens to be a block drilled with both motor mount locations, I'm pretty sure the 73-up GP used the F-body (firebird) motor mounts that are moved towards the front of the engine.

F-body mounts use 3 bolts and A-body(lemans) use 2 bolts to hold the upper mounts to the block

FYI limited slip IS posi
