Trouble Codes....

Feb 24, 2005 3 Replies

I have an '87 Olds(sorry not a Pontiac), just cranks, won't start. Accessed the ECM(paperclip method)and received the message, code 12, repeatedly.(no other codes). What does this mean? E-Mail ok.

Thanks

The code 12 is proper when the computer doesn't think there is anything wrong with your machine.

As to the no start the possibilities are many. Need some more input.

3.0 Liter, v-6, '87 Olds Calais. Just driving down the road, just died. Had to have it towed home. Turns over, that's it. Fuel injector? Can't find a fuel filter anywhere. Thanks for the help.

It's just like any other car. Check for spark. Check for fuel pressure. Check for injector pulse. Follow the lines from the tank to find the filter. You need that every

30,000 miles anyway. GW
