Basically Lance the 924 you speak of is the version with the Audi 2.0 powerplant. The 944's and 924S you drove had the Porsche 2.5 powerplant. It's hard to say whether you should get the 924 or wait. If you liked the
944, you may not like the 924, then again, if it is very good example and could possibly be used to take the next step up...is the 924 a special edition? A LeMans or Martini? That would definitely make $1900.00 a good buy.If you are looking for direct differences here they are : The 924, besides the Audi 2.0, was comprised of lots of VW components. The
924 being an original VW-Audi project, kept alot of VW technology. Not really a bad thing, and if you think about it, cheaper to maintain. The drawback being, the VW parts were not exactly the lightest or most sports car specific available. The early 944's you drove got the full Porsche treatment (though the A-arms were still steel) A lot of the VW and Audi parts were replaced.It's a tough decision, but I would drive them both, one right after the other and see what you like best.
