About that HOV Sticker - Are they friggen' serious?

Beside the 4 things being absolutely ***HUGE*** they want you to stick it on all four sides.

Call me a ninny, but I am not about to stick some ***HUGE*** sticker on my paint that I so meticulously wash and wax. The things will fade, or at least fade or damage the paint underneath them. I would guess getting them off will do damage to the sticker or paint. Talk about a guaranteed depreciation ploy. I may as well wallpaper the car with bumper stickers while I'm at it. >:o(

So I'm thinking of making up some clear plastic plates that will go into the rear triangle windows and make them all (the front and back too) mountable with suction cups. The stickers I could mount on them. To this end they'll be removable and locked inside the car. I would not have to have some idiot rip it off the exterior paint as one has already reported in one Prius forum.

I don't know who thought up these ***HUGE*** things but they could be spotted from an aircraft. Someone in Sacramento needs to buy a Prius and then get these lovely stickers. Of course if it was a state purchased vehicle, they'd no doubt plaster the thing with them then sit back and proclaim, "I don't see anything wrong with them." Well, Duh! They should have to buy "their own Prius" and see how the HOV sticker caper flies.

A simple dot or something on the license plate would suffice. I doubt if any cop could not tell what a Prius was or what the HOV dot on a plate signifies. Oh well, maybe that's just too complex for the cops so we get this ***HUGE*** billboard to meld into the paint.

Not happy about these things...... Least it was only $8 shot.

You know, it isn't really that bad. I've never put bumper stickers on any car I have owned, but I happily stuck them on my Prius - saving 10 minutes each way on my commute is worth the ugliness.

The stickers actually go on plastic parts of the car, not metal, so removing them should be easier, and if repainting is required, it's easy to get done professionally.

I agree they're ugly but then it's not like the car itself is a pinnacle of style anyway. I'd paint the car lime green with purple dots if saves the commute time on So.Cal freeways (well, maybe not, but the drama helps my point).

It depends on your sense or aesthetics. I picked a color (blue moon perl) that most people have complimented. I chose the Yosimite custom plates because the color went wll with the paint job. Now I have these ugly yellow/orange stickers that even my (normally obtuse) neighbors noticed.

BTW, they go on all 4 sides.

BTW, the Electric cars get a sedate white style and they go on only

3 sides.

Sheeesh!

Some static cling vinyl decals for the rear window might have worked just as well. Someone should suggest an alternative to your local government.
