Creatards vandalize the Prius

May 05, 2009 37 Replies

In the US, each maker of hybrid cars got a certain maximum number of cars that would carry tax credits. So may people bought Toyota hybrids that buyers now get no tax credits. The other makers -- Honda, Nissan, Ford, etc. -- still have tax credits available. Diesel cars do get tax credits here too.

Yeah, she drives a Brat NOW. But Earl's not giving up that '73, so...if Joy were to change cars, it just might be the '87.

Before the car people were defined by their horse. Some of that lingers today in the expression "horses ass."

An '87 with a different colored door from a '84...

Yeah, and their preference for women's body parts. You know, like a leg man or a breast man, well I'm an ass, man...

Hey man, I trust you didn't mean to label yourself an ass.

Hey, I'm like that. I can take it... ;)

You are rather hateful in your diatribe and either mis-informed or a total ass. Conservatives are the folks who take care of the enviroment. The leftists THINK they own "GREEN". They just are too blind to the truth to understand just how wrong they are. You REALLY should stop listening to the hatemongering far left kooks.

Absolutely!

And Earl will put some comfy chairs in the back...for the kids, you know...

No, I just found those references recently. Just because the articles are old doesn't mean the trend has stopped altogether. I am guessing you'd have denied it was an issue even at that time, just like Peak Oil is a "myth" and other "conservative" reverse-engineered reality.

If the peak of 2008 vandalism was due to the oil price spike, we'll see another wave if/when the recession wanes and people start being gluttons again, driving up fuel usage and costs once more. I hope you understand the overriding point here.

So, as a "conservative," what exactly are you conserving? That is, aside from your perceived right to pillage nature and horde money. What are you actually doing to acknowledge that the planet is finite? Or do you think it isn't?

That's it, dwell only on the money aspect. Resources are infinite. The Rapture will negate all human gluttony.

Cancer-model economies don't work on finite planets.

The 1800's buffalo slaughter represents the whole attitude of "conservatives" toward the natural world. If you want to talk about conspiracy theories, study the AGW-denial spin machine, or any fringe- Right reaction to evidence for environmental problems. It's always the same crap about taxes and rights, with little acknowledgment that nature keeps people alive in the first place.

That's revisionist BS (should we expect any less?) The bulk of them were shot by whites to starve the plains Indians out of their food supply, and it mostly worked.

G.O.P. stands for Greedily Optimistic Pride.

I only wish conservatives would be conservationists. T. Roosevelt was the last significant one, a century ago. Nixon only created the EPA under pressure. Reagan didn't care. Bush protected some marine areas (oil-poor) but crippled regulations in most other places. If modern conservatives are doing much conservation, they don't seem to want it known.

People who respect nature's limits favor environmentalism over growthism. Today's "conservatives" tend to be the against that. They spend too much time excusing waste. They think large, overpowered engines are a birthright. They rant about people's "right to drive whatever they want," as if it supersedes all physical evidence of oil depletion and CO2 emissions. Conspicuous consumption is seen as prosperity but conspicuous conservation is seen as a hippie fad.

James, your own writings are full of this stuff, along with your copy/ paste editorials. It is self-evident who respects nature and who doesn't.

Economic growth cycle: overpopulate, mitigate, repeat.

Logical deduction, as explained in my original post and many of those articles. The "Prii" were targeted in areas with plenty of other vehicles.

That figure is probably a lie. Give a citation. It reminds me of lies about a Prius being more energy-intensive (slightly at best) to build than other cars, therefore the entire vehicle lifespan of high MPG is negated. Absurd! Nobody has done a legit calculation on that. It's like the idea that leaving a light or computer on uses less electricity than the minor start up surge; debunked many times.

Either way, you wouldn't have cared about that Hummer fire pollution in the first place unless it made a good anti-conservation talking point. It's easy to spot someone pretending to have a conscience.

Correction: in terms of CO2 is what I meant. Particulates would be another matter.

What in the world are you talking about? All I'm saying is that if you want to make a point, regardless of what the point is, you should use current data, not aged data that may not be relevant any longer. Especially when using inflamed language that looks like trolling.

Maybe you should run along and learn what the words you are using mean before trying to say that they mean the same in some bizarre way.

That is,

What does any of that have to do with anything? I have an electric car. Do you have an electric car? If not, climb back into your gas guzzling Prius and STFU.

Then why are Prius users squandering resources?

My second car is totally recycled. What is the oldest car YOU own?

I wish liberals would be librarians, the hot kind that whip off their glasses and let down their hair and let their top three buttons pop open to reveal perfect, huge breasts.
