9-3 Convertible Problems

Jun 22, 2004 2 Replies

I've just bought a 2001 9-3 (2.0 lpt) convertible which is great apart from two very annoying problems that I'd like to sort without having to resort to a dealer:

1) When I switch off the ignition I get half a dozen (ish) loud knocks from the rear left hand side of the car. Its also happened when I switch the ignition on but have not started the car (may just not have noticed it when the car is starting though). It does not happen every time.

2) The passenger windows do not meet when they have been closed - looks like they are not seating in the roof properly although they close to the same point when the roof is down. The gap is about five millimeters. What should I look for and is there any adjustment on these things?

I've only had the car a couple of days, neither of these issues were apparent when I bought it but its more likely that I missed them then they've just started!!! If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear 'em.

Thanks in advance, Tim

That'll be the radio aerial. Check that it goes all the way up and all the way down properly every time. If it does then don't worry about the knocking. If it doesn't, then you probably need a new mast.

Cheers,

Colin.

The knocks is your atenna going up and down. as far as the windows well welcome to owning a conv, and if your doing millimeters your just looking to close. Enjoy gene
