9-3 rear washer

The rear washer on my 2001 9-3 doesn't work. When I push the button to activate it I hear the motor sound, but no washer fluid comes out. I filled the reservoir and the front works fine. I also took used a pin to make sure it wasn't clogged. Suggestions? Thanks.

I have this same problem with my 99 9-3, haven't figured it out either. If you find a solution please let me know.

I'm getting this as well... I'm also not getting fluid to the headlights. I just bought the car in November and I live in Michigan, so I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit before I do too much troubleshooting.

It's usually a problem with the connectors between the washer fluid bottle and the lines that go to the headlight and rear washers. The connectors have rubber diaphragms in them that wear out. You need to replace them.

sells new ones. There were instructions on here some time ago for how to repair the diaphragm things.

Ok - I've got exactly the same problem on my '93 9000CSE.

Where / how do you find the damn connectors ?

Pull the little cap off, and note spring, plunger and rotten washer. Cut a new washer fron a rubber glove or similar and reassemble

Hey Ed,

I had this on a '99 9-3. In my case, the previous owner didn't use the rear washer, just the wiper. We tried all the connections and found that it was, in fact, a clog in the line from crystallized washer fluid. I hope this isn't the case for you...I had to pull out the headliner to get at that hose to check it out.
