900i is getting lower

two years ago I could get the trolley jack underneath; one year ago I would only go under the supporting brace (from chassis span to front); now, it wont go under.

Is it the shock absorbers ? Are they difficult and expensive to replace ? thanks tom

Shock absorbers control the bounce - springs hold the car up. Tires also hold the car up. Do you need air in the tires? A very, very, very remote possibility is the supporting brace is sagging from rust.

What about bushings? I had very worn trailing arm bushings on my Volvo and it was sagging noticeably.

Rears are easier than fronts. Hardest part is compressing the old shocks to remove them because of the gas pressure. You may not have that problem! Soak all nuts and bolts with Liquid Wrench for DAYS before beginning the project. Tap all nuts and bolts with a hammer each time you soak them. Don't get that s*it on your fingers!
