I have a 00 9-3 Convertible (in the US) and when I pulled in the office parking lot this morning the check engine light went on. My first response was to check the gas cap before I left for home this evening. The cap did seem a little loose so I took it off and put it back on making sure it was on properly. When I started the car the light did not go off amd since the car seemed to be running fine I started the 4 mile drive home. About 2/3 of the way home the light went off. Does this indicate the light was gas cap related? Since I don't have access to a code reader I was wonderin should I feel comfortable as long as the light doesn't come back on?
