Possibly FS: 1987 T16

Chaps,

It's looking more possible I might be staying out in Brazil for much longer than planned. House buying etc. That means, if the price is right, my T16 might be up for sale. It's in Marlow, Bucks (UK).

150K miles, T&T until end March, 1 rattley tappet. Silver, Aero bodykit, CD player. Everything works bar the heated seats and rear wash-wipe. Some rust on drivers door at bottom inside and on front arches, not much though. Clear indicator/sidelight units, Forge recirc dump valve, new exhaust, new front engine mount, new radiator, new vac hose. It's got one of Matt Faulks' Stage 1 APC kits consisting of a tweaked APC and JR filter. I've also got a TE-05 turbo, a 3bar FPR and a set of (brand new) 30lbs fuel injectors to be fitted .

Any interest? It's not getting ebayed, it'll get stored until we come back for good (12 months?)

I don't know whether to feel conserations because you are losing your Saab, or jealousy because of the semi permanent Brazilian sojourn.

OK, I may be losing a Saab, but I'll buy another. In the meantime, there's loads of junk for me to fiddle with here that you'll have never heard of. Or want to hear of.. Gurgel? Ford Versailles? Del-Rey? Chevrolet Opala..Ford Landau.. I could go on forever..

Don't be too jealous - I bought my first decent pair of sunglasses in 30 years last week. It's pissed down pretty much all the time since :-(

Yeah, but you could be the first englishman to give a car a Brazilian Wax :)

See your Auction is still running :)

Yes, wifey decided it must go, so I stuck it up anyway. Might get a reasonable price, though I'm also open to offers if you want any of the pieces - APC/Filter/Forge DV/Injectors/TE-05 turbo seperately - I've still got all the standard bits so I could always sell the car standard - indeed, my plan was to learn about C900 tuning with this one, then buy the latest one I could find and transplant all the bits to that one..

Gotta say, I'm really tempted. The question is do I need a third 16T (a

4th 900)? I think if it was black there'd be no question.

I do want to, and have the OK from OH - but I have to ask myself the question - will it just sit there gathering moss next to my n/a 16v...

I would love it, but I don't have any spare brass, after getting a wheel bearing, and the ball joints done.

Can anyone tell me what would count as a sensible offer? I really shouldn't have looked on Ebay...

I'd say £1300 is a fair price especialy with the extra's, its a good un with only slight scabbing on external panels, the floor is sound. Getting the tappets done at a decent specialist won't be much and getting the wing, bit under spoiler and door bottoms done at a bodyshop should be around £200 cash in hand. I see a lot of C900's many are in a right state. Decent ones, esp of my prefered pre 90 vintage are getting rare.

I'd only be after buying the tuning parts - very happy with my T16s already - so paying a visit might be overkill, tempting as it is!

That's not a bad description of it, much better than mine, cheers Matt. The gearbox is quiet too...

If anyone comes up with £1300, they can drive it away.. otherwise my brother's said he'll have it and let me buy it back for the same price should I want to if things change here.. we've got to sort out house etc here yet, and I still have a job in UK. Wifey's staying to look for houses for a while. It'll take 1-2 years before we finally move out permanently I think..

That last post didn't come out right. The beer (and whatever else) is too cheap here!!

My brother has said he'll give me a grand for the car and the bits. He'll let me buy it back for that should I wish too..

If anyone has a better cash offer (and I won't change my mind!!) email mikewpearson AT fsmail.net
