Radio Wiring - 92 900 Turbo

Can anyone tell me what each wire is for on the two wiring harnesses that attach to the back of the radio? The car also has a power antenna.

"Large" plug:

1 = green 2 = brown 3 = red 4 = blue

"Small" plug:

1 = gray 4 = red 5 = black 6 = green 8 = brown/white There is also a purple wire and a blue wire that connect between the two wire harnesses. I'm installing an aftermarket radio.

Thanks!

I no longer own the c900. But to my recollection the wiring diagram are either similar or the same throughout the c900 model years. It even carried over to the 9k. There are two plugs, one for power, another for speaker. The power plug has constant power, switched power, ground and power to the power antenna. The speaker plug has eight wires to the four speakers.

Check the following for reference:

Our '91 900 has the following;

one male plug with 8 pins; green/white = left rear speaker brown/white = left rear red/white = right rear blue/white=right rear green = left front brown = left front blue = right front red = right front

one female plug with 10 holes, of which only 7 are wired red = 12 V switched gray = 12 V unswitched (for radio's memory) brown/white = dashboard lighting green = power antenna signal black = ground (this one is diagonally opposite the red wire) the two center connections have a black wire each, but are not connected to the radio

If your radio has an ISO plug you can get an adapter cable that fits both the radio and the plugs in the car.
