But you Englishmen have York... ;) And, you know who King Arthur (Kong Arthur) was?
The same misstake are going on here in Norway, people says "England" when they mean "UK"...
Aye, we has York. And we're keeping it. Hands off. You lot had your turn, 'way back.

Did you get close to or in it? It's interesting to note how not-straight the (hand-made) panels are.
(shrug) It's a city...
Isn't that just amazing?
Yes. Hopefully that makes the trip to Oslo worthwhile; it certainly did for me.
Fjords. Go see some fjords. Newcastle -> Bergen by boat, Bergen -> Oslo by train, takes you along the (er...Hardangerfjord I think? Big and impressive, whichever one it is). The boat from Newcastle is an overnight, I seem to recall.
Have you driven a Fjord lately?

Yes, he's a brilliant writer.
Huh? What the hell is *this* all about? Criticizing a trip report to the Saab Museum and surroundings, in the Saab newsgroup? Amazing.

'fraid not. After reading that those panels were beaten out on a mound of horse manure, who can blame me :) Oslo
It did - for me it was more an interesting building with some well-chosen large wooden ornaments inside it :) The boat racing on the day we left was quite a spectacle as well. Just because I said we hated the place didn't mean we didn't enjoy the time we spent there. That sounds weird, but it does make sense when you think on it.
My parents fjord-hopped for a couple of weeks a few years ago and loved it. My mother lived in Bergen for a bit and she was very surprised by my comments. She has also said that "the other side is much nicer" and one of my biker friends tells me driving (well, riding for him) from Bergen to Trondheim is a good trip. Perhaps a long weekend, sometime.
Cheers all,
Paul
