1956 Power Hawk Studebaker

The fastest way to determine the 'real' value is on Ebay. But that brings with it the need to have a quality description, and a good sales presentation. Hard thing to do if you do not know the car well. One other way is to contact the Studebaker Driver's Club 'forum':

• Serial number (off the door post)
• Body tag number (Under the hood on the firewall just left of the wiper motor)
• Engine s/n# ( a stamped number on the top of the block toward the front on the drivers side right next to the oil filler stand pipe) (You'll probably have to wipe the small flat area off with a rag to see that number)
• Body condition, note any rust....including under the carpeting, and in the trunk.
• Engine running condition, transmission condition. "Running when parked" is more of a warning sign to a Studebaker buyer than it is a selling point. Being honest about the brakes is a plus.

You can offer it up for sale on the Studebaker forum, but be prepared for the tire kickers and lowball offers. There are a few people that regualrly sell cars on Ebay, and they will write you an nice Ebay ad (for either a flat fee, or a perctentage of the sale price)

In closing, the Power Hawk was one of the very first of the Studebaker Hawk series, and they make for a very nice collectible car. Not as rare as some Hawk models, but a nice car, especially if it isn't rusted out.

As a Power Hawk owner since 1966, I can attest to the solid attributes of the coupe design vs. hardtops. My hawk is just about to turn over to 90K and is largely original except for paint, added rear stabilizer (from a 1955 President sedan).

I just noticed you had posted this...At any rate i am wanting to be the own er of another 56 Hawk. My brother shot my only one full of holes and ruined everything while i was in Vietnam , 100yrs ago.
