1962 Hawk GT Value

I recently saw a 1962 Hawk GT with a 289 engine and automatic transmission. It is essentially in original condition (1 paint job at some point) with no rust, runs great, drives great, etc. You get the picture that it could be considered in excellent condition.

I am a newly interested person in Studebakers in general and now this car s pecifically. I am not mechanical at all, so want a car in good to excellen t condition.

Long story short, given my lack of experience and knowledge with Studebaker s specifically and cars in general, I would appreciate any advice as to wha t the true sales value of this car should be.

The owner is willing to sell it but before we talk price, I need a better u nderstanding of what the car should actually sell for, not what someone ask s for a car.

Thank you so much in advance,

- Scooter

Scooter; Without pictures I could not hazard a guess. Allot depends upon what it is worth to you. Unless you purchase a 100% per fect original car you will end up upside down as to recovering your cost. It is a hobby and should be fun. Check E Bay look at the pictures and see what people are asking You would receive more information about the 62 GT from the Studebaker Driv ers Club Forum. There are not too many people left that follow the old alt aut os Studebaker group. For some reason it shows up in my mail box every once in awhile. Ron
