Hey Matthew

What is it that your local club does to get young folks such as yourself interested in Studes?

The reason I ask is I am wondering if it can be duplicated here. I just dropped membership in the local chapter because all the old farts do is drive to some place to eat.

I have better things to do with my time on a Saturday then drive some thirty miles to some eating establishment.

The reality is that people drive their cars, and a 30 mile (50 kilometre) drive to a lunch place sounds ideal, if there were other young people you'd be glad to do it too.

Suggest you rejoin as clubs will never get young members if they drop out.

"mbstude" has studebakers in his DNA, as granddad is an avid collector. nicest bunch of people you could ever want to meet.

We quit one club because they thought it Studebaker Dinner Club. We joined the Ozark Trails Club and haven't regrated it. We have a few young members. We have picnics, road trips, Show and tell meetings usually at a Libary or someones garage. When you were a teenager meeting. That went over real big. We have a Orphan Car Show every year at Branson, Mo. We do enough different things that the old and the young enjoy. We were having a home made ice cream meeting at a member farm a man about 25 seen a Studebaker pull in the driveway. He pulled in behind it. Said he was going to buy a Studebaker Scotsman wagon. Liked the meeting and joined the club. Next month we are going to have a valve cover race.

Oh, and I'm even going to McPherson College to take Auto Restoration and maybe own my own restoration shop some day.
