It is a Belvedere sport coupe. Thank goodness a Golden Fury was not wasted on this fiasco. They lifted it up ahead of time to let the water drain out of it. The winner won't get much. It was pretty stupid to put a new car underground in a concrete vault, thinking water would never get in. Once water & humidity get into an underground vault, there is no way it can ever get out. It should have been placed in a hermetically sealed metal vault within the concrete vault, with dessicants& cosmolene, etc. to have a chance. A sump pump & ventiltion system inside the outer vault would have been a good idea, too. I will be surprised if there are any salvagable parts on it. They may as well have droppedd it into a lake for 50 years. What a disappointment.
Tulsa & promotors are selling a bunch of sizzle, but they don't have much steak.
Well they already have Coddington involved. Give him enough money and he'll "restore" it.
Still, it's a shame the way this turned out.

I watched the show at noon, and this evening. I had a special interest in 57 Plymouths,, my dads was my first ride (1959)
got to admit, I was surprised the car was in as good a shape as it was.
my cousin had a 57 De Soto, and by 1978, it had lost both tops of the front fenders behind the headlights to rust.
"the Cod" will stand in front of the cameras with Duane, and wow the dummies with how smart he is.
the guys that work for Coddington might restore it, if they had enough money put into parts
